Cruising in Uvac

The Special Nature Reserve “Uvac” is a Category I natural asset, renowned for its canyon valley and spectacular meanders, often referred to by visitors as the Serbian Colorado. The waters of the Uvac River have carved a deep bed into the limestone rocks, creating steep cliffs and narrow canyon-like valleys with ridges rising up to 100 meters. This reserve was established to protect the griffon vulture, a rare species of vulture with an impressive wingspan of up to 3 meters, whose unique role in the ecosystem helps prevent the spread of diseases. The griffon vulture, known as the “natural recycler,” is globally valued for its ecological importance.
